Support Resources

Field Service Management: there are many FSM or Small Business Software to help run your operation.

We have highlighted a few we have found to be useful and applicable.

Jobber - Visit Page

We like Jobber for its affordability (comparatively) and its top-notch customer service and implementation. If you're switching from pen and paper because you're technology challenged, the customer service and implementation at Jobber is exceptional. There's also a FB group for Jobber users with lots of real-life tips and tricks. Jobber fits well for 1-man operations and up.

Service Titan - Visit Page

Seemingly a much more robust software than Jobber and HouseCall Pro. We don’t have too much experience with it, but understand it to be a very popular and effective tool for both commercial and residential service providers. Unique features like payroll and property data are among the useful features in commercial property applications. Service Titan is geared towards companies with office and field staff, not a great solution for 1-man operations.

HouseCall Pro - Visit Page

With more features than Jobber, but less than Service Titan, we’d put HouseCall Pro in the middle. A slightly more robust offering than Jobber with useful integrations for communication, marketing, and payroll.

Service Trade - Visit Page

A less trendy software that is used by well-established companies, particularly by HVAC and Fire Protection Service Providers. Service Trade has a proven name in the industry, with integration with Building Reports and other commercial industry standard software programs.

Local Help
- Maybe you want someone you know and trust that you can meet face to face regularly.

Facebook - www.facebook.com

Your local community Facebook groups are great places to find office help. You can keyword search in any group which will highlight posts and responses related to your keyword search. “Office admin, Virtual assistant, etc.”

Bookkeeping/Accounting

QuickBooks – quickbooks.com

The most well-known resource in bookkeeping and accounting. Easy to find bookkeepers and CPAs that can help build your process or do it yourself. *If you do hire help, we recommend finding “QuickBook ProAdvisor” certified bookkeepers. This certificate is proof of their knowledge and ability. Although, do your own due diligence as well.

Joist - joist.com

Easy and straightforward resource for invoicing and billing. Limited on its accounting and other finance features.

Vendor Vetting - Some of the larger property management firms use 3rd party “vetting” services to help them streamline service provider compliance and onboarding.

Avetta - Avetta.com

It's largely for the benefit of the client or property manager, but there are some service provider benefits included in the membership, like networking. Your company is now in their database. Their clients can now see you as an approved vendor. Avetta has an annual cost associated with it, but if you’re established and have good revenue from at least one of the clients, it is likely to be a wise investment.

Online Insurance Resources - There are several online insurance broker services. It’s a fast, easy way to get insurance coverage for your business. There are limitations to coverage and specialty insurance, so don’t expect a full-service offering. Also, it's important to understand your policy; these quick turnaround services may not consider your unique needs or uses. So read carefully.
